The Harder Path
The
Harder Path
My
father used to say
that fighting is easy.
Anyone can raise a fist,
anyone can answer anger with anger.
Walking
away—
that is harder.
It takes
strength to still the fire,
to turn your back on pride,
to choose peace when provoked,
and silence when noise demands a reply.
Fighting
asks little.
Restraint asks everything.
A true
man is not measured
by how quickly he strikes,
but by how firmly he stands
without needing to.
